Kevin Ramcharan

Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority

Kevin Ramcharan was born and raised in Southern Ontario and spent a significant time developing professionally while living and working in the Greater Toronto Area. These efforts resulted in valuable experience gained in the Municipal emergency management field, which was his original goal. Kevin first joined Nishnawbe Aski Nation in late 2022 working as an Emergency Management Officer and spent 3 years living, exploring, and working in Thunder Bay. His current position is the Social Emergency Liaison for the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA).

During his time working with First Nations communities, he began showing an interest in public education while promoting fire safety education in Attawapiskat First Nation, an experience that transformed his outlook on the fire service. Kevin is currently volunteering as a Firefighter with Pass Lake Volunteer Fire Protection Team. Kevin soon became the fire department’s Emergency Response Coordinator and continues to engage his fire department to this day. He has a strong interest in promoting fire prevention, currently pursuing a Fire Life Safety Educator certification. Kevin continues to promote fire safety and education, emergency preparedness, and social emergency awareness for the betterment of the place he now calls home.
