
Division Chief of Administration and Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue
Robert Wark was born and raised in Thunder Bay Ontario and has worked with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue (TBFR) since 2009. Robert is a graduate of Confederation College (Computer Programmer Analyst, Class of 2000), Lakehead University (Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Class of 2003), Dalhousie University (Fire Services Leadership, Class of 2017), as well as Laurier University (Master of Public Safety, Class of 2023). Robert also holds more than 15 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certifications that were acquired throughout his career within TBFR’s suppression division, where he attained the rank of Acting Captain before transitioning into the position of Division Chief of Administration/CEMC.
Robert's background was originally in Information Technology, but over time has shifted towards Public Safety. Robert has been a proud member of TBFR's Incident Management Team (IMT) since 2020. In the past 5 years he has had the pleasure and opportunity to work closely with over 10 different Northwestern Ontario Indigenous Communities that faced various threats that have led to partial or full evacuation of their communities. Robert is proud to represent both the City of Thunder Bay, and TBFR when assisting indigenous communities impacted by various emergency events.
