Director of Operations, ISN Maskwa Inc.

Paul is ISN Maskwa’s Director of Operations and often steps in as an Incident Commander, leading teams through evacuations and deployments. With over four years at ISN Maskwa, Paul continues to demonstrate strong leadership and commitment to the communities Maskwa supports.

Paul Syrette is a member of the Garden River First Nation (Ketegaunseebee). He has an extensive background in policing, where he was employed by the Ontario Provincial Police and with the Anishinabek Police Service. During his tenure with the Anishinabek Police Service, Paul worked in his home community and retired as the Deputy Police Chief.

Paul is a former Chief and Band Councilor of Garden River, knowledgeable on historical and current First Nations issues. Paul participates and practices First Nation Traditions, Customs and Beliefs. Paul’s spirit name is Gech Twaa Wen Daa Go Zid Waa Gosh (Sacred Silver Fox) and he is a member of the Wolf Clan.
