Emergency Management Ontario

From Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation, Garett is an Anishinaabe and part of the turtle clan which embodies the teacher and protector roles in society. This has guided Garett’s career to become a passionate public safety professional.

With over 10 years of experience in emergency management, crime prevention, and law enforcement, Garett has served both First Nation and municipal communities in various capacities. His past roles include Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for the City of London, Park Warden with the Ministry of Natural Resources, and Community Emergency Management Coordinator.

In 2022, Garett joined the Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response, where he currently serves as a Senior Emergency Management Coordinator in the Indigenous Engagement and Support Programs Branch. In this role, he builds strong partnerships, advises on culturally informed programming, and supports the development of emergency management capacity in Indigenous communities across Ontario.
